Former President of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo, Being Sued in US Court by Indigenous Residents of Chiapas

Indigenous residents of Acteal, Chiapas have brought a suit against former President of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo, alleging that he is responsible for killings in the late 1990s in the town.  The suit, which was brought in a Connecticut court, argues that the US court has jurisdiction under the Alien Tort Claims Act, the Torture Victim Protection Act, among others.
